4-star TE Zipperer feeling like a priority to the Canes

Lakeland (FL) 4-star TE Keon Zipperer has had the Miami Hurricanes near the top of his recruitment for a while now and the talented tight end prospect took some time to update how things are progressing with UM.

“Things with them are good,” Zipperer said on the Canes. “Miami’s been recruiting me hard, I do feel like a priority.”

Ace recruiter and Miami tight ends coach Todd Hartley has been in Zipperer’s ear about coming to Miami and the Lakeland product has been receptive to what Hartley has to say.

“I love coach Hartley,” Zipperer said. “He’s just a cool dude and like a father figure. He tells me I’m his number 1 guy and if I commit, he’ll stop everything at the position.”

What else about the Canes has Zipperer interesting in signing with the U?

“They had a big year this past season and they use the tight end a lot,” Zipperer said.

Besides Miami, it seems every top program in the country is coming after Zipperer hard and he listed out a few other schools that he talks with the most.

“I’ve been hearing from LSU a lot,” Zipperer said. “Also, Florida State, Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, and North Carolina. I’m taking an official to Georgia, but no date yet.”

When it comes time to make his choice on Signing Day in February, Zipperer will simply be looking for the one place he feels most comfortable at and it appears surrounding environment will be a huge factor for the 6’2” 242 pounder.

“Signing day in February,” Zipperer said of his decision timetable. “I just want that school to feel like home. It’s just going to be a hard decision.”

I want Zipperer bad for a couple of reasons. 1) he’s a beast at TE and 2) I want to keep Hartley’s sniping percentage at 100%. I’m not sure if he’s looking for free trips but it just feels like he’s leaving the state for a big program. Hope I’m wrong and that he joins the Two Headed Monster Part Deuce.

Me neither.

Would love to have him, but just not getting the vibe from him. Nothing solid, just gut.

I know the turds are after him big time, just kind of hoping if he doesn’t pick us, he goes out of state.

True, got to keep working him, he is close to Hartley though

I dont think its smart to wait till signing day for a position which we need more of. Yes we have Brevin and Mallory and Irvin might be a nice surprice but we really need 2 this year. I dont like that wait for signing day idea because it leaves us scrambling last minute.

I'll wait till paradise camp on this one. Guy is a tremendous talent tho, day 1 contributor

Kid is all over the place. Naming new schools in every interview.

If he's waiting until NSD to commit, he ain't coming.

It's all about hats on the table.

This board never thinks ANYONE is coming.

It's absurd how much negativity this is, even around guys outside people are confident we land. Neal, Richards, Bogle, Stevenson, Zipperer, it doesnt matter

People want us to recruit 4* and 5*, then cry when we actually have to recruit against UGA, Bama, FSU for them.

Having said that, if he waits Wyedemer will take his spot. Wydemeyer is taking an OV during the season and he really is talking up Miami

For real. If we don’t act like we worth **** they not gonna act like we worth ****. How are we gonna expect recruits to take us serious when we take ourselves as a joke. We complain they create this leave Miami atmosphere but we create it for them by seeing it as the norm. They know we expect it and give no *****. Smh. We really think these recruits aren’t plugged in. There could be 10 of them lurking through here at any moment laughing at us complain about bags and this and that and being some hoes.

Hopefully he picks us.

Either way, a 2nd TE for the class is needed to get the depth about right.

Gold teef and dreads dude fits in like a glove here.

We know they come on here. It's been confirmed in the past by that guy who now works for an agent and others. That said, I hope Jobe saw the best of @Cane Dynasty.

Wrong, and this is exactly the reason he's not coming here. He's not better than Jordan or Mallory, and he'd be dumb to come here because he'd be sitting on his *** most of the time for 2 years. The kid is going to go somewhere he can play right away, and rightfully so. That's not Miami.
