2015 Patterson (La.) wide receiver Daylon Charlot had a specatcular junior season and is only looking to improve upon that for his senior year.
“My previous season, I had 12 touchdowns with 1100 yards I believe. I had a good season. My next season, I’m trying to reach the 2000 yard mark and have 25 touchdowns and help my team win a state championship.”
Charlot compares himself to another Louisiana playmaker in Odell Beckham Jr.
“I think it would be Odell Beckham, because to be honest, it’s the consistency. I’m a big playmaker like him and whenever it’s crunch time I come through.”
The 6’0 170 pound receiver has been hearing from a large amount of schools all over the nation.
“I’ve been hearing from Miami, USC, UCLA, Notre Dame, Alabama and Tennessee’ There’s plenty more too.”
While the rising senior is still young in the recruiting process, there is one school sticking out to him right now.
“Miami, because Al Golden is a great coach and I feel they can really prepare for the next level and be a better player.”
While the 2015 speedy receiver doesn’t hold an offer at the moment, it looks like it will be a quick decision if he gets one.
“I talk to coach Frank and coach Coley. I just have to get them my highlight tape so they can offer me because I told them that if they offer me, I might as well commit there.”
The Louisiana native spoke more on the ‘Canes and why he is so interested in them.
“I haven’t been down there, I’m taking a visit down there in April and I’m probably gonna love it down there. I heard they have a nice campus because I searched them up and stuff.”
The school that stands second to the Hurricanes right now is USC with their potent offense that impresses Charlot.
“They run a spread offense and they throw the ball a lot. I’m just trying to go to a team that throws the ball more than they run. I’m not a selfish person, but I make plays for my team.”
LSU, the hometown school is another school that remains in the running for Charlot, as he talked about the environment in Baton Rouge.
“I love the environment, the student sections and the environment is just amazing.”
When asked what will play a big role into his decision, the coaching staffs will be the biggest factor.
“I want to see coaches that will check up on my grades and my family and the rest will come.”
*Official Top 3 from him in order is 1) Miami, 2) USC and 3) LSU
**I clarified on the offer/commitment question and asked “If Miami offers you, would you commit?” and he responded “Yes Sir”
